Coffee Mug Guy: “Dan, I’ve heard a lot about this new thing. Degrowth. I don’t like the word, but if it’s a trend, we got to get on that.
Data Dan: “Degrowth has been around for decades. They just had their big yearly global conference in Pontevedra, Spain last week.
Coffee Mug Guy: “Oh, we have to get on the program for next year. Where is it?”
Data Dan: “It’s in Norway I think. But we are a sustainability consulting company that helps oil and gas companies and plastics companies market themselves as green. The conference is also mainly about presenting academic papers on degrowth.”
Coffee Mug Guy: “This is a trend yes?”
Data Dan: “If you want to call a new way of looking at how to run our world in a sustainable way that is gaining the interest of more people a trend, then sure, call it a trend.”
Coffee Mug Guy: “Kyle, write me a white paper on how companies can use degrowth to market their green growth. I’ll present it at next year’s conference.”
Data Dan: “I had no plans to go to that conference, but if you are presenting that paper, I will be there.”
Coffee Mug Guy: “Thanks for your support, Dan.”
Data Dan: “I wouldn’t miss it for anything.”
