Black coat man: Which is a bigger motivator fear or greed?
Orange coat man: Fear. Greed is just the fear of being poor.
Blue coat man: It’s neither of those.
Black: You can’t hijack my question.
Orange: What is it then?
Blue: Purpose.
Black: laughing. Cavemen didn’t care about purpose.
Orange: Yeah, purpose is not a primal urge.
Blue: We drove three hours to get here in your $100,000 SUV and are all wearing $1,000 goose-down jackets. We had a helicopter fly us to the top of this cliff, so we didn’t have to climb it. We are the farthest thing from primal that has ever been.
Black: Purpose doesn’t run our economy.
Orange: Or our society. Fear and greed do.
Blue: Maybe we have evolved enough so that we don’t have to have an economic system, or a culture ruled by our amygdala.
Black: What’s an amygdala?
Orange: It’s that Dutch company I shorted last year and made a killing.
Blue: I stand corrected.
