Voice off-screen: Thanks for coming down to the office Derek. As you know the coal mine will be closing next year to help us meet net-zero by 2050 goals. We wanted to talk to you about our just transition package.

Derek: OK

Voice off-screen: We're all in this together Derek and to meet our goals for a better environment we all have to make sacrifices. The government is prepared to offer you a transition package for 1/2 of your annual salary for two years and retraining that will be provided by the government.

Derek: That sounds like a bit of a raw deal. My family worked this mine for 100 years, so 1/2 of a very low salary doesn't seem all that just to me.

Voice off-screen: I'm sorry Derek. That's the best the government can do at this time as I said we all have to make sacrifices for a better future.

Derek: Could you tell me what sacrifices you are making, since we're all in this together?

Voice off-screen: No one's asked me to make any sacrifice.
