Just think, out there, there is likely some world more advanced than us. They likely have technologies we have never dreamed of. They’ve traveled the stars. Maybe they are even a type 3 civilization, able to capture all the energy in their entire galaxy. They have conquered their own galaxy and are looking back at us with no idea of how primitive we are.
If they were more advanced than us, wouldn’t they not be worrying about advanced technology? Wouldn’t they have solved the problems of their own world, and been content with that, and not have the need to conquer anyone else. What you're describing just sounds like us with more access to energy and more dangerous technology. Who the hell needs to harness the energy of a whole galaxy. What are you doing with that? More advanced than us would be accepting limitations. You're just describing a civilization that can’t solve its own problems, is never satisfied with the energy it has, and is a terrible neighbor.
Dude, I thought I was being profound.
You were not.
Yeap, we only need what we need to survive, all the rest is excess energy we wouldn't really need
I have seen the future, and it is powered by current photosynthesis.
I'm just not sure I see *any* humans in that future.
