What can we do to get out of the destructive cycle of overconsumption of our resources that is destroying our environment? (That's the short version). This was an answer to Chris’ question.
Like some of the framing Morgan Housel does around defining true wealth as having complete autonomy over your time. His book Psychology of Money (haven't read whole thing) has some narratives that could prove useful if they could become the mainstream aspirational definition of wealth instead of excessive consumption...though I imagine most people who actually internalize this definition of wealth have already become wealthy and consumed a lot along the way.
Thanks. And the longer answer might address alternative answers. Why not improved efficiency? (A: because you can only tighten the belt so much, right?)

Thanks James. I will check it out.
I know of Morgan, but have not read this. Thank you for adding to my ever expanding reading list!
Your most recent post talked about the Genuine Progress Indicator, the Better Life Index and measuring Gross National Happiness. I get some occasional blasts from the Optimist Daily. Today they highlighted Dr. Trisha Gopalakrishna's work showcasing a model called Nature’s Contribution to People (NCP). Have you heard of it? https://www.optimistdaily.com/2024/08/how-integrated-environmental-projects-balances-nature-conservation-and-peoples-well-being/
Degrowth is the answer. What is the question?
